Posters for Prosecutor Princess

Prosecutor Princess has (finally!) released its promo posters, and I think the main thing I take away from them is major shoe envy. (Of Kim So-yeon, that is. I’m not sure how I feel about the lace-up boots on the supposedly mysterious lawyer character played by Park Shi-hoo. On the upside, his look is a departure from the usual kdrama lawyer hero — all sleek suits and crisp silhouettes, like co-star Han Jung-soo — so there is that.)

Prosecutor Princess is a show that doesn’t really get me on a story level, because it seems pretty familiar; a lot of comments have already compared it to Legally Blonde, and I can’t argue with that. Korea has also been rather hit or miss with occupation dramas; while there are some hits (White Tower, New Heart, HIT), there have also been a number of lackluster offerings. (Often, I find that occupation dramas gloss over the actual details of the occupation and don’t honor reality.)

Where Prosecutor Princess does have me interested is in Kim So-yeon’s transformation, particularly coming off such a badass, unpolished character in IRIS. I’ve seen her portraying sleek, chic, gentle, evil, jealous, and action-hero characters (though not all at once, of course). Bubbly and girly will be new ground for her.

After Ha JiWon, Rain to collaborate with actress Han YeSeul for new MV

Singer actor Rain will be playing a couple with actress Han YeSeul in the MV for his upcoming new song.

According to JTunes Entertainment rep, “He will be working with Han YeSeul for the MV fo his special album ‘Back To The Basic’ which will be released on 1st April.” They also released a still photo to the MV showing Rain giving Han YeSeul a back hug.

The reason for Rain’s collaboration for Han YeSeul is due to the recommendation by writer Lee KyungHee who wrote the dramas ‘SangDoo Ah Let’s Go to School’ and ‘A Love To Kill’. Writer Lee KyungHee also recommended Han YeSeul for recent drama ‘Why It Snow on Christmas’.

This will be Rain’s 2nd time working with an actress for his MV after his collaboration with Ha Ji Won for the MV to the song ‘Love Story’ off his 5th album last year. It will also be his 2nd dramatized MV.

Meanwhile, it was known that the MV was filmed on 21st and 24th March in KangNamDong.

Rain’s special album comeback code: “Sexy”, title song confirmed

‘World Star’ Rain (28) will be having his comeback. After his 5th album ‘Rainisim’ released in October 2008, it will be his singer comeback after 18 months.

And the comeback code will be sexy this time. He will put a stop with all the idols advocating concepts like ‘beastly-dol’ or ’sexy-dol’. Ahead of the comback, we have already seen the teaser video released on 23rd March. In the teaser, we can see Rain showing off his masculinity in the new concept.

The transformation in his style is also radical. He had shoulder-length wavy locks and fake eyelashes attached to his lower eye lashes. A JTune Ent rep said, “It will go with the music style. We have not revealed the most shocking features yet.”

This will be his 2nd album after he left JYP Entertainment and set up his own music label. And this time the album will be titled ‘Back To The Basic’ which means going back to the beginning.

There will be 5 songs in the special album. And Rain has also participated in the producing, song lyrics and composing for the whole song for more than half of the album. This is yet another chance we see Rain showing his producing capabilities after his previous works like his recollection album and MBLAQ’s debut album.

The title song to the album will be ‘널 붙잡을 노래 (The song that will capture you)’ but the genre to the song has yet been decided. We get to hear a snippet to the song through the teaser video released.

The response to the album is also heating up. With the release of the teaser video, there were over 100K views to the video in less than 12 hours .

Rain will make his comeback on KBS Music Bank on 2nd April.

Hyun Joong in the ‘Hood

Hangin’ with the homies. SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong was spotted playing some soccer with friends at a local neighborhood field. Some pictures and a short clip were uploaded onto the internet on the I Love Soccer thread of Daum, check it out.

The pics are believed to have been taken about 2 weeks ago, sometime after the end of their Persona Concerts in Seoul. It’s great to see one of our Kpop idols being able to just relax and have fun with friends. Of course they never really get away from it all since these pics were posted.

A question that a lot of netizens were asking was what neighborhood this was, but you know what, let it be a secret so maybe he can play with friends again without getting mobbed. In the reports it said that Hyun Joong had great manners, seemed healthy and played a good game of soccer. It was also commented that even if he was just playing soccer with friends he still kept up his fashionable ways with his casual athletic wear and shoes that matched his team’s vest. I wonder if that was just a coincidence? I’m glad Hyun Joong was able to have some fun, I’m sure his schedule will soon be filled with all kinds of activities being the hot commodity that he is. The poor guys does still however look like he could use a good night’s sleep.

G-Dragon is Short

Why are you looking so short G-Dragon?

On message boards, this particular photo was posted, comparing the heights of Big Bang leader G-Dragon, 2PM’s Taecyeon and Wooyoung, and actress Ha Yeon-ju from what looks like a music show broadcast.

It’s been officially recorded in their profiles that Taecyeon’s height is 185 cm, Wooyoung’s is 178 cm, and G-Dragon’s is 177 cm, but the picture tells a different story. Not to mention, G-Dragon appears shorter than Ha Yeon-ju, whose height is 171 cm in her profile.

Obviously, Ha Yeon-ju must’ve been wearing some tall heels, but netizens are playing a bit, poking fun at the Big Bang leader’s short stature.

Maybe the short rapper can invest in some of those “man heels” that are so popular in Korea these days, so he can compete with the high-heeled ladies.

Oh My Choi Siwon

The brand new romantic comedy drama “Oh! My Lady” started off with a bang. By a bang, I mean an eyeful of Choi Siwon’s body.

Super Junior’s “handsome guy” gave fan girls and nunas something to scream about in yesterday’s debut episode.

In this drama, Choi Siwon plays a famous male idol whose looks got him recruited on the street. The heroine of the drama, played by Chae Rim, is a housewife who becomes Choi Siwon’s manager in order to earn money to gain custody of her child.

Anyway, the Super Junior member’s hard body is doing hard work causing buzz for “Oh! My Lady.”

The drama airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:55pm on SBS.

Do you think Choi Siwon’s body is enough to bring in the ratings?
